Thanks to everyone who came down to play and support at the Chiswick 7s on Saturday. In poor conditions against two very strong sides (Chiswick and Belsize Park) the Lions stepped up to the challenge and put in some increasingly competitive performances.

The loudest cheer of the afternoon came when Alan Tighe raced down the left wing after a long chip through from Aidan Potts, hacked on and scored the Lions first competitive try, but other highlights include a fantastic try-saving tap-tackle from Sam Jacques in the first game, the Lions scrum jamming the beasty Belsize Park front row backwards in the last game and a fine chip-and-chase combo from Mark Taylor to Alan which almost lead to a second try.

Chiswick are now keen for a friendly in September and have asked us back next year.

Whitton Lions Squad:

6.Aidan Potts, 9.Gareth Elliott, 11.Magnus Kauders, 12.Mark Taylor, 13.Rich Lennon, 15.Paul Doherty, 19.Sam Jacques, 20.Alan Tighe
